A wonderful Santa Claus scene consisting of several different carvings, a woodsman Santa holding a staff with an owl on top, and two separate deer, one with antlers. Santa also has a Christmas tree at his front and a toy bag thrown over his shoulder. This Russian Santa Claus figure is hand carved from solid linden, also known as either basswood or lime. Once carved and sanded the Santa is hand painted and finished in extraordinary detail with numerous coats and then signed by the artist.
